Rose and Mary came to me and requested that I create their Save The Date cards and their wedding invitational suite. They wanted everything to be hand lettered, and they wanted as many puns as possible, so this was right up my alley.
This couple was a blast to work with! The wedding would be held in the Mummers Museum in Philadelphia, so they wanted the Save The Date cards and invitations to be bright and colorful to help evoke the garishness of Mummers' costumes. I used a peacock feather on their Save The Date, and included spring flowers on each of the pieces of the suite. The dance step shown on the Save The Date card is called the "Mummers Strut," the main dance move of the Mummers. The colors of the Mummers Museum are purple, green, and orange, so I went with pastel versions of each color to keep a light, airy feeling within the color scheme, and chose metallic gold envelopes and ribbon to tie it all together.
